Pink Slips (eSafety Checks)
If your vehicle is more than five years old and registered in NSW, you'll generally require a Pink Slip before renewing your registration. During the inspection, we assess key safety components including tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, lights, seatbelts and other essential systems to ensure your vehicle remains roadworthy.
Once your vehicle passes, the result is electronically submitted to Transport for NSW, making the registration renewal process quick and convenient.
Blue Slips (Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspections)
A Blue Slip is required for vehicles being registered in NSW for the first time, re-registered after registration has expired, or brought into the state from interstate. This inspection is more comprehensive than a Pink Slip and includes identity verification, compliance checks and a detailed roadworthiness assessment.
